A recent analysis by the Journal of American Medical Association has found there are no health benefits to drinking low amounts of alcohol. The study found that drinking small amounts of alcohol did not equate to a lower morality rate than for those that did not drink alcohol. They looked at 107 past studies with almost 5 million participants to assist in their determination.

Dr. Eric Collins, chief medical officer with Recovery Education, commenting on this study by saying “ I think societally it helps by not allowing people to fool themselves [into thinking] that they’re doing a good thing for their health [by drinking].”

Researchers with this study are hopeful to look at certain groups mortality and alcohol consumption.

If you choose to consume alcohol, please do not drink and drive.
